JudoliittoHämeenlinnan Judoseura (Judo club of Hämeenlinna) has been founded in 1969. It's one of the biggest and the best judo clubs in Finland. There are over 300 members in the club. Most of them are practising actively on the tatami. There are many different practising groups. Judokas vary from 5 year old kids to adults and competitors. Judoseura is a member of Finnish Judo Association.

Sensei of the club is 6 dan black belt Olli Paasimaa. The president of the club Risto Saha. Dojo is in the center of Hämeenlinna in the Paukkula Hall in the southern Finland, 100 km north of Helsinki.

Members of Judoseura have achieved 37 Finnish Championships, 17 of them in Adults and 20 in Juniors or Cadets. Judoseura has gathered all together 106 medals in Finnish Championships. Also Judoseura has achieved 2 European Championship bronze medals (Janne Selin 1986 and 1998 as A-junior. Also Saniella Heinonen has been representing Finland in Students World Championships 2000, she was 7th. Maarit Kallio has been 9th in World Championships 1999, 7th in Students World Championships and 9th in European Championships. Also many judokas have been representing Finland in European Championships, European and World Youth Olympics and Nordic Championships.

Hämeenlinnan Judoseura arranges every spring an international judo contest, Hämeenlinna Shiai.
